    Pregnancy Test

A pregnancy test is available in a number of ways and in a number of forms but most of them work using the same basic idea. When a woman is pregnant there are hormonal changes including the appearance of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or the pregnancy hormone. This is present in the blood and the urine for which these pregnancy tests are designed to detect. This hormone is made when the fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus which generally happens about six days after the sperm and egg come together, however there are ten percent of women who experience this at a later time; up until after the first day of when the next period was supposed to be. This is perhaps a reason why some of the results can come back as a false negative and why it is important to use a pregnancy test more than once.

    Different Pregnancy Tests

There are different types of pregnancy tests. When a woman visits a doctor, they will administer one of two or sometimes both tests. One is a blood test and the other is a urine test, but both of these check for GCG. It is possible to also use home pregnancy tests. These are available in multiple different brands with varied instructions but these too check for the pregnancy hormone. It is important to use these more than once because sometimes the results aren’t accurate the first time if the woman uses the test too early. Once the body starts to make HCG the tests are normally very accurate as some pick up even the smallest traces of the hormone. The prices range for these home pregnancy tests but even some of the cheaper ones are still quite accurate.

There is another type of test that a woman can take online that isn’t as popular but it might grow to become just as successful. This test can be taken for free and it uses RST which is Remote Sensor Technology. This technology analyzes thirty parameters of the woman’s physical health and gives a result with over ninety nine percent accuracy.

    Home Pregnancy Tests

The home pregnancy test is very easy to use. Some require being placed into the urine in midstream while others require being placed into a cup of collected urine. When the test is working correctly there is an indicator that shows in the window. If this indicator is missing, the test shouldn’t be used or relied upon as being accurate.

There are a few things that will influence the accuracy of the test that should be double-checked. The woman should always look at the expiry date on the test kit as well as read and follow all of the instructions. The time that she uses them is important. More of the hormone is built up as time goes by meaning that if the woman uses the test after the first missed period there is a better chance for an accurate result. Most tests state high accuracy levels when used a week after the first missed period. To be sure of a negative result, follow with another test between three to seven days later.
